About Us: Staff of Life Baking Company was started with one kitchen oven and a 30-year-old Kitchenaid mixer in the spring of 2006. We sold our first breads at the Broadway Farmers Market in the summer of 2006. During the winter of 2006-07, we continued to work at the craft of artisan breads. We expanded to four ovens, which we keep humming on baking days. The spring of 2007 saw us move to the Harrisonburg Farmers Market.
Farming practices and philosophy: We are a home-based business in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Our mission is to make available to the people of Rockingham County and surrounding areas, the most wholesome, flavorful and heartiest artisan breads at an affordable price.
