Bacon Asparagus Wraps

Crispy bacon and tender asparagus make for an excellent side dish these Bacon Asparagus Wraps from HomeAgain Farm. Ingredients are on sale at HomeAgain Farm’s booth - for $20, get a pound of bacon and pound of asparagus - while supplies last.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound asparagus*

  • 1/2 pound bacon*

  • Olive oil, lemon juice, crumbled feta or goat cheese*

*These ingredients can be found at the Harrisonburg Farmers Market

Method

  1. Fry bacon strips until limp but not crispy.

  2. Divide asparagus into bunches of 3-4 spears. Wrap each bunch with a strip of bacon and secure with a toothpick. 

  3. Line a cookie tray with parchment paper. Place the asparagus-bacon wraps on the tray and garnish with olive oil, lemon juice and freshly ground pepper. Sprinkle with crumbled cheese.

  4. Turn the broiler on high. Broil for 2-3 minutes, until bacon is crispy. Turn the wraps over and broil for another 2-3 minutes. 

  5. Serve right away and enjoy!
